scratch repair at honda service center?
I am planning to repair a scratch which is on my civic coupe 2007 and located on the rear bumper. The scratch is not really bad, it's about one inch and there are some few minor scratches around it. I am planning to repair it on the honda body center. How much do you think the cost will be? What is the estimation of painting the whole rear bumper again? Will $100 handle it?
Hey, its a "B U M P E R" Their purpose is to protect the body from damage. So it got a mark. Get a life. It is only a car. Why don't you put a number on it. There will be more. They at the body centre will just dab on some paint, let it dry and buff it shiny again. Repainting the whole bumper is a waste of money and is not as good as a factory paint job which is baked on. Besides, $100 should cover the cost of the touch up and polish(as it is for a couple(3-4hrs)- drying time is in there...that's why it takes that long.

Glass Scratch and Graffiti Protection
It is a sad fact of life these days that glass is a popular target for graffiti vandals. They may spray paint on it, scratch it with rocks or other hard substances or etch it with acid. Additionally, the glass used in construction can often be subject to accidental damage such as grazing and scratching or even over spraying. And since glass is used so much for buildings, shop fronts and windows in vehicles, the cost of replacement after such damage becomes prohibitive.
Since it seems impossible to prevent such damage in the first place, what is needed to reduce the cost is graffiti protection or glass scratch protection, in the case of construction damage. This protection comes in the form of a tough, transparent film to go over the glass.
The film is almost invisible when applied over the glass and lasts up to ten years. Due to its toughness, it is much less likely to be damaged due to graffiti or accidental scratching, but if it is damaged it costs a great deal less to replace than the actual glass. It is the ideal solution for glass in public places that is liable to graffiti damage.
In the case of glass that has already been damaged by accidental scratching or graffiti, it is often possible to remove the scratches instead of replacing the glass. glass scratch repair can be done by professionals to take out all kinds of scratches and make the glass like new again. This is a much more cost-effective option than removal and replacement of the whole pane of glass, especially when there is only a small area of it damaged.
All kinds of glass can be repaired; toughened glass, frosted glass and mirror glass. Even fairly deep scratches can be taken out and the surface polished up to look like new again. Unfortunately, there is usually some glass distortion when the scratches are very deep, but repair is still a better option than replacement.
