Contact Lens and Eyeglass

visioncare 300x225 Contact Lens and EyeglassOnce you have realised that you are not seeing things the way that you use to, or your vision is blurry then it’s time that you get your vision checked by the ophthalmologist.  Once that has been done then the options that are available would be mentioned to see which one would have been best for you. There is the option of the glasses and also the contacts and then last but not least, LASIK eye surgery that can be used to correct the defects that are in the eye.

So, eyeglasses vs. contact lens - which is better?

When they are compared, we need to look at the fact that even if you are someone who loves to wear the contact lenses, there is a time when you would have or need to wear the prescription glasses. If you do however suffer from dry eyes then that would have been an issue, but once your eyes are ok and there are no infections then you would have been able to wear the contact lenses without an issue at all.

Then there is the cost of the glasses compared to that of the contact lenses.

When you have prescribed glasses then the cost and the upkeep of them are next to nothing. They can be kept for as long as the prescription lasts and therefore there is not much that needs to be done to ensure that they are kept in good shape. Now when that is compared to the contact lenses we will see that there are things that are needed to ensure that the lenses are kept in good shape.  Solutions are needed to be changed to ensure that they are kept fresh and therefore that would incur cost and other solutions that are needed to be bought too.

Let's discuss comfort and convenience.

Contact lenses are said to be somewhat of a fashion statement and therefore when it comes on to comfort they are quite uncomfortable. They are said to only be worn for 8 hours at a time to ensure that the eyes are fully rested. They can be irritating to the eyes and are sometimes difficult to put on. When they are compared to the glasses, they are more comfortable, they can be easily slipped on and there are no hassles when it comes on to the issues of forgetting to take them off when you are going to bed.

What about travel?

Eyeglasses are easier to travel with; all that you would need is just the case and something that can be used to clean them. Contacts on the other hand, would need a case, solution for them to be placed in and also eye drops that are needed not have them in place when that are being placed in the eye.

There are things that can be used to ensure that your vision is corrected and therefore they can both be used to make that happen. At the end of the day what you get is all about how comfortable you feel and the best thing that would work for you.
